Connecting the Receipt Printer to the iPad
Bluetooth receipt printers must be paired with the iPad before it can be used with Quick Sale.
Receipt printers with ethernet (LAN) ports or WiFi must be connected to the same network router as the iPad and you must obtain the IP address of the receipt printer. Please see the receipt printer user's manual or contact the manufacturer to obtain instructions on how to obtain this information.
Adding a Printer (or Printers):
Open Quick Sale
Go to Settings
Change the option Invoice Format to Receipt
Tap Customize Receipts
Tap Add Printer
In the Name field enter the printer’s name, e.g., Receipt
Tap the Printer Model selector your receipt printer model
If the printer selected is Star Micronics LAN printer, enter the printer IP address in the IP Address field
Select the Receipt Type: Customer Receipt: Normal receipt with item information, qty, price, totals, signature and barcode. Order Summary: Print only item information and qty.
If the option Default Printer is ON then Quick Sale will print a receipt automatically to this printer when a full payment is received. If a cash drawer is connected to the receipt printer then it will be opened for cash, credit card and check payments.
Tap Accept
Configure the Receipt:
To add a logo to the receipt tap the Change Logo button, then tap Select image from Photo Album. You can select any image from the iPad’s Photo Album but the image will be converted to black and white when printing the receipt.
Adjust the size of the logo image if needed.
Enable or disable the other options available as needed.
Tap Done
Printing a receipt:
With an invoice open (or new invoice) press the Print button and then choose a printer.
If a receipt printer is configured as a Default Printer (in Settings > Customize Receipts) then a receipt will be printed automatically if a full payment is applied to the invoice.
If a cash drawer is connected to the default printer then the drawer will open automatically if the payment type is Cash.
